Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF)

It is regulated by Regulation (EU) No. 516/2014 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 16 April 2014 and aims to contribute to the efficient management of migration flows and to the implementation, reinforcement and development of the common policy on asylum, subsidiary and temporary protection and common immigration policy, in full respect of the rights and principles enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.

To this end, the SGSICS has developed a series of functions that fall within the scope of the aforementioned regulation.

It meets the objectives reflected in Article 3 of REGULATION (EU) N. REGULATION (EU) N o 514/2014 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 16 April 2014 laying down general provisions on the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and on the instrument for financial support for police cooperation, preventing and combating crime, and crisis management.

Proyecto: Strengthening the means to security in CIEs

The project aimsprovide and strengthen the technical means to the alien internment centres (CIEs). Such an enhancement is donethrough the acquisition of closed-circuit Televisión (CCTV), the monitoring system through video, for monitoring purposes, monitoring of areas, and staff security checks for the CIEs.

General dirección police National i deal with the internal and external security de the CIEs, by court orderenter foreign nationals who violate the organic law 4/2000 regulates the rights and freedoms of foreigners in spain.

For these reasons, the Sub-Department of information and communications systems for security (SGSICS) proposed for acquisition of equipment for CCTV cameras ampcommission of the monitoring systems in the CIEs of Algeciras and Tarifa, toensure the security and control, people serving in these centros as de-institutionalization in the same.

The project aimed at acquisition of CCTV systems for the expansion of already in the CIEs of Algeciras and Tarifa in order to avoid any incidents that puwould take place on equalincreasing the security and control of persons.

Isandcreated in order to increase the fight against illegal immigration not only the taking into account the sustainability of the environment but effective readmission in countries of origin and transit. For that it is essential to ensure safe working conditions of persons, to strengthen the surveillance and monitoring systems currently installed in the CIEs mentioned.

Project concept outline

The result obtained following the this project is tompliación CCTV in the CIEs of Algeciras and Tarifa, con the following expected impacts:

  • Improving the safety of staff working in these CIEs and detainees in the same.
  • To avoid any incidents that may take place both at the borders and along the CIE, increasing the safety and control of persons at the same.

The project has been funded through the Background Asylum, migration and integration (FAMI) 2014-2020, a percentage of the 75% (annuality 2020).

The project is under the specific objective 3 “Develop strategies just and effective return in member states to contribute to the fight against illegal immigration, with emphasis on sustainability of return and readmission effectively in countries of origin and transit” and the National Goal 1 “: Support measures for the return procedures”.
